Julien Clerc releases Une vie, a generous and radiant album that embraces intimate subjects and civic engagement. The artist, who will perform at Robert Badinter's induction ceremony into the Panthéon on October 9, 2025, talks about the highlights of a life that has always remained in touch with French society.
La Croix : Your 28th album, Une vie (Parlophone/Warner), covers broad themes: love, brotherhood, death, fatherhood, what matters in life...
Julien Clerc : The authors have served me well by bringing me many social issues. I compose my songs on the piano and I ask those who write the lyrics for a variety of inspiration. For Une vie , Benjamin Biolay, who is also the album's producer, Serge Lama, Paul École, Gaëtan Roussel, Didier Barbelivien, David McNeil and Carla Bruni wrote lyrics for me, which offers a beautiful range of themes. You can talk about anything in song, but you still have to find a text close to the truth.
